Volunteer Community Outreach
Community outreach enables volunteers to share their Farmer-to-Farmer Program assignment experiences with friends, family, colleagues, and their community. CNFA asks prospective volunteers to commit to completing at least eight hours of public outreach and community education upon returning home from their assignments, thereby completing one of the goals of FtF, which is to educate and inform Americans about life in Farmer-to-Farmer countries. We are ready to assist our volunteers with any questions and concerns they might have about conducting Community Outreach. Please feel free to contact us if you have more questions regarding volunteer outreach. Please also feel free to consult our Volunteer Resources page for specific country information, Farmer-to-Farmer policies and USAID’s mission.
Public outreach can be conducted in a variety of ways and forums. Here are just a few examples that have been common in the past.
- Presentations at the volunteer’s church group or community center
- Interviews with local media representatives
- A publication of an article about the volunteer experience
- A scientific publication in a journal
- Presentations at local schools or universities about experience overseas and foreign assistance
- Presentations to local 4H or FFA groups
- A website publication or blog
Thank you for helping us spread the word about the important work of our Farmer-to-Farmer Program. We look forward to adding your story here!
