CNFA - Harnessing the POWER of the Private Sector - Our Work

Malawi

ONGOING PROJECTS:

COMPLETED PROJECTS:

A landlocked, heavily rural country in Southeast Africa, Malawi is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. Up to 85% of the population is involved in agriculture, a huge majority of them  subsistence farming. While a majority of the crops grown are for subsistence consumption, agricultural products like tobacco, tea and sugar account for 80% of Malawi’s export earnings. Poor water supply, a soaring population, an absence of modern agricultural technology and extremely poor access to agricultural inputs like fertilizer and pesticides are among the myriad of problems faced by Malawian farmers. In Malawi, CNFA® aims to improve the productivity of Malawian farmers by strengthening the availability of agricultural inputs, as well as ensuring the long-term sustainability of these input suppliers.
