Founded in 1985, CNFA is a Washington, DC-based, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to stimulating economic growth around the world by nurturing entrepreneurship, private enterprise and market linkages. CNFA empowers people and enterprises in the former Soviet Union, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and the Near and Middle East.
Originally the Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs, CNFA officially changed its name in September 2007. The organization should be referred to as CNFA.
