Accountability

CNFA is committed to being fully accountable to all of our stakeholders, from our donors and partners to our worldwide staff to our beneficiaries. Broad-based impact monitoring and evaluation are vital components in assessing our progress, confirming strengths, identifying areas for improvement and, ultimately, ensuring success. CNFA follows four general principles in its monitoring and evaluation work:

  • Apply high standards of analysis.
  • As much as possible, integrate collection and analysis of data into program implementation rather than treating it as an external, occasional activity.
  • Involve all program staff in monitoring and evaluation, thereby refining their skills as analysts while stimulating them to continuously assess project success and consider options for improvement.
  • Where data on economic impact are not routinely available, allocate resources for periodic in-depth impact assessment by external economic experts.
