On July 29th USAID Mission Director, USAID EG Office Director and other USAID representatives visited three USAID/REAP funded projects: Fruit Processing Enterprise – Aromaproduct, LTD located in Tbilisi, Cold Storage Facility -Georgian Fruit Company LTD and FSC/MSC – Agroservice LTD located in Kakheti. The visit was also attended by vice-governor of Kakheti and Chairman of the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee.

USAID’s REAP Program Continues to Contribute to Georgia’s Agricultural Development : Zviad Adzinbaia : Georgia Today on the Web

On April 21-22, the USAID-supported Restoring Efficiency to Agriculture Production (REAP) program hosted a two-day Enterprise Strategic Planning Program (ESSP) in Batumi to provide technical assistance to nearly 40 REAP-supported agribusinesses across Georgia. The aim of the program is to assist beneficiaries to develop competitive edges for their businesses, identify and resolve potential business problems and to seize new commercial opportunities. The training was attended by the Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara.

The targeted beneficiaries for the training course were businesses engaged in primary production and postharvest handling operations and farm service centers, which provide high-quality inputs and mechanization services to farmers across Georgia. The training was led by Innova, a reputable business consulting company and included guest speakers from leading private sector firms.

Providing Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) Training

The Free University Training Center of Bazaleti hosted a three-day training for agribusiness representatives. USAID’s Restoring Efficiency through Agriculture Production (REAP) program organized the event with a Consortium of Free University and the Agricultural University.

The training provided attendees from over 21 agricultural businesses with detailed information on the benefits and requirements for Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) compliance. During the information sessions, there were various opportunities for the attendees from different agro-sectors to exchange their ideas of success and personal experiences about production and exporting goods on the EU market.

Branding Seminar Strengthens Georgian Agribusiness

On October 29th, USAID/REAP organized a seminar for nine grant recipient businesses and three Branding Companies to give company executives, brand managers and marketing staff a variety of insights and recommendations that will influence how they build and exploit world-class branding, packaging and marketing solutions. The seminar was conducted by Jeffrey Spear.
