As Director of Communications, Jessie Lowry leads CNFA’s public relations efforts, media relationships, special events, digital presence and corporate branding. She provides extensive communications oversight to CNFA’s programs in Africa, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia and travels frequently to the field to conduct trainings and offer strategy support.
Prior to joining CNFA in 2012, Ms. Lowry served as the Communications Manager for American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), a trade association representing 80 percent of North America’s steel industry. At AISI, she developed and executed short and long-term strategic communication plans to engage the Institute’s members, media, members of Congress and the general public. Ms. Lowry played an instrumental role in the reactivation of the grassroots advocacy group, the American Steel Coalition (ASC), and oversaw ASC’s membership, recruitment, website and marketing materials. She also served as the Cultural Series Director of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) and executed social and cultural events as well as provided communications support to help build YPFP’s public image.
Ms. Lowry holds a Master of Arts in Political Communication with a concentration in Public Diplomacy from The George Washington University and two Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs and Organizational Communications from Miami University.
